Licensing

The licensing approach used in PlantVantage is server based concurrent licensing . The License checks on the Server include checking whether PlantVantage is licensed to use a server and the number of concurrent users on the server currently. Because a server based concurrent licensing approach has been is taken, PlantVantage is able to be installed on client machines without the need for client side License keys.

For MacroView and SpectraView systems, there are two licensing limits that can be defined:

PLANTVANTAGE EXPIRATION <=      99999999

PLANTVANTAGE USERS      @=      20

The expiration date limit allows a PlantVantage to be used for an evaluation period. As long as the server date is less than than the expiration date, PlantVantage can be used to display server trend data. The user count limit defines the maximum of PlantVantage users that are licensed to use that particular server concurrently.
