If the connect automatically startup check box was checked in the last session, an initial connection is attempted with the server address that was provided in an earlier session.
If the initial server connection is successful then a chart and the trend pages item is shown on the main pane.
If a server address from a previous session exists, but the connection was not successful a login screen appears. If the user can log in successfully then a chart and the trend pages item is shown on the main pane.
If the user is not able to login successfully or no previous server address from a previous session exists then the User Options item is shown in the side bar.
